How we started our performances to the NURSING HOMES:
In 2002, we were already studying Spiritism together, and then we decided that we should start donating our love and positive energy through a charitable work. We have a Brazilian spiritist friend who lives in the
Bishop Mugavero Nursing Home, in Cobble Hill (Brooklyn). We were already visiting her and to the other internals once a month, but we decided to take a further step. This step should be in a way to bring
happiness and fun to all the residents, donating a little bit of our time to make so many faces smile for few hours.
What could we do?
We thought it would be a great idea to organize a HOLIDAY PERFORMANCE, so that's how it started. We are not professionals, but with a lot of creativity, love and good heart, we can do more than we ever
imagined possible. During all these years, we had performed many different styles of Brazilian dances, like: Samba, forro', lambada, axe, frevo, bumba-meu-boi; Numerous songs that were performed by
professionals that we invited to join us during this special time of the year, including a great Opera singer; We also had piano and guitar players; Many different plays, even a clown comic show; Impersonations
of Elvis Presley, Bob Marley, John Travolta & Olivia Newton John and much more. We always closed the show with our Santa Claus and his elf distributing little gifts to our lovely audience.
We are always innovating. The internals look forward to our arrival, so every year we have some fun surprises to be seen. Enjoy our pictures and videos. In addition, you should join us to our next performance.
