Who we are and what we do

"Inner Enlightenment Spiritist Society" (IESS)

is a non-profit organization whose goals are the study, practice and dissemination of Spiritism in its

triple

aspects:

scientific, philosophic and moral, as codified by Allan Kardec.

Our group was established on August 7th, 2007. Since then we have been holding studying meetings, workshops, "passes" (Spiritual healing) and

selling spiritist books in Manhattan, NYC. Our current address is: (Pearl Studios) 500 8th Ave, 4th Floor - NY, 10018.

All of the activities of our Spiritist Society are held in

ENGLISH

and

FREE

of charge. Please read on the bottom of our pages how to help our

About Us

About the ORIGINAL board of directors:

		Abilio Andries - TV Audience Research Analyst
		currently working for OMD. Graduated from CUNY in Business Administration concentration in Marketing Research, other degrees include Computer Science from SESAT-RJ and Audience Media Research from NYU. From a long lineage of spiritist blood related family, has been involved with the phylosophy since early age. Had been a member of “Ponto de Luz” Spiritist Center since 2003.

		Angela D. Stewart - Lawyer, post graduated in
		"International Business and Finance" by NYU. Has worked at Goldman Sachs & Bear Stearns Investment Banks; multi-lingual, fluent in Portuguese, English, Italian, Spanish and some French. In the past was a model & actress to "TV Globo" soap operas; nowadays works in Spiritist Plays. From a Catholic family, only discovered Spiritism right before moved to USA, in 2001; since then she has dedicated her time to the study and practice of the doctrine, including the mediumship phenomena. Former member of "Ponto de Luz" Spiritist Center. Web manager.

		Eduardo V. Guimaraes - B.A. in Physical
		Education, Master in French language, amateur photographer, and poet. Spiritist background:

Lecturer to Spiritist Societies in the Tri-State area.
Former Director of: "Escola Jesus Cristo" (Spiritist
Society in Rio de Janeiro) and of "Groupe Spirite Allan
Kardec" (Spiritist Society in Paris).
Former Coordinator of: Child and Youth Education of
Allan Kardec Spiritist Center (NY).
Coordinator of: "Family Spiritist Retreat" (Tri-State
Area) and of the Spiritist Educators Meeting (Tri-State
area).

		Fatima Frison - Floral Designer since 2003. Currently
		working at a prestigious Flower Shop in New York City. Graduated in Economics, in addition she speaks English, Spanish & Portuguese. Became familiarized with Spiritism in 2002. Since then, has been working with children, teaching them the Gospel according to the Spiritism.

		Helder Martins - Knew the Spiritism in the 70ths.
		Came to the Us in 1994 and has attended the Allan kardec Doctrinal Society in Astoria, the Allan Kardec Spiritist Center in Jackson Heights and is one of the founders of the Inner Enlightenment. He is one of the coordinators of the Family Spiritist Retreat in Connecticut.

		Hugo Melo - Was born in a Spiritist family, in Sao
		Paulo, Brazil. Attended the Children and Youth Spiritist Education in "... Spiritist Center in the same city. He came to the US in 2002, since then has been working with children spiritist education, for 4 years.

About the NEW members of IESS:

		Fernanda Bomfim - Economist, graduated from
		Hunter College, has been in NY since 2003. She was born in a spiritist family. She has been working in IESS since 2008 and is one of the educators of the project Spiritsm for children. She participates of our nursing home monthly visitations and in our two yearly shows in Brooklyn and in Roosevelt Island Nursing Home.

		Leandro Araujo - Graduated in Tourism. In addition,
		he's currently studying Investment Banking at NYU. Was born in Rio de Janeiro, raised in Brasilia. He is a third generation spiritist family. Came to the US in 2004 and is a IESS member since 2008. He studies mediumship phenomena. He is an active member of our Nursing Home monthly visitation and yearly shows.
