Atavism and Sexual Behaviour

Tuesday, January 23, at 7 pm

This lecture is based on chapters XXVIII – Sexual Problems and XXIX – Disturbing Relationships from "The Integral Human Being" by Joanna de Ângelis (spirit) and Divaldo Franco. The lecture does not focus on sexual identity, orientation or preferences; rather, it discusses the origins of our sexual behaviour using the current reincarnation model. It also provides a foundation for the understanding of other behaviours, particularly behavioural disorders and addiction, which also have a strong atavic component. In addition to our self-inherited traits, the lecture touches on the consequences of our current behaviour to future reincarnation processes. Júlio Padovan is a professor at the Department of Chemistry at York College - CUNY and a full-time researcher at the Rockefeller University in New York City. Júlio dedicates his time to translating spiritist work from Portuguese and French into English, and is particularly interested in studying and explaining the solid logical foundation upon which spiritist concepts are built as well as in creating a tighter association among those very same concepts.
